A $0 monthly premium may be available for some consumers and some plans after applicable financial assistance, but it is not guaranteed for everyone. Eligibility depends on the rules and individual details, and plan availability varies by location and year.
Premium is not the same as total cost
Even when a plan has a $0 monthly premium, it may have a deductible, copayments, coinsurance, network requirements, prescription restrictions, and other out-of-pocket costs. The plan's benefits and service rules still matter.
Verify rather than assume
Use the official Marketplace application and review the actual plans available to your household. Check the premium after any applicable credit, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, network, and formulary. A generic advertisement or income estimate cannot confirm what you personally qualify for.
CMS's 2027 Marketplace final rule specifically warns against marketing practices that suggest consumers will always qualify for zero-dollar coverage or premiums. See the CMS rule summary for official context.
