Health insurers and their plan offerings vary by state, county, ZIP code, and coverage year. An insurer that participates in one county may not offer Marketplace plans in another. A company directory is not enough to establish that a particular plan is available to you.

Some states operate their own Marketplace. Use the official federal guide to find the correct exchange.
Find your state Marketplace ↗How to confirm a plan
- Open the official HealthCare.gov plan preview, or your state's official Marketplace if it operates its own platform.
- Enter your location and review the actual plans listed for the relevant coverage year.
- Check the plan's provider directory directly with the insurer and confirm important doctors and facilities.
- Review the prescription formulary and cost-sharing rules.
- Save the plan documents and confirm the coverage effective date after enrollment.
Insurance company vs. provider network
The insurance company that issues a plan is not the same thing as the hospitals, doctors, laboratories, and pharmacies that participate in its network. A provider may accept one plan from an insurer but not another. Verify network participation by the precise plan name and network—not only the insurer's brand.
